Tomi Davies, CEO, DiaGlocal Collective – Nominated for Investor of the Year at the MOI Awards

Harry ‘Tomi’ Davies (TD) is a highly respected African angel investor, author, and innovation strategist, serving as CEO of DiaGlocal Collective.

With over four decades of experience in technology and startups, he has become a pillar of the African investment ecosystem, connecting diasporan and local capital to empower entrepreneurs across the continent.

Davies holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, where he graduated in 1982. Early in his career, he worked in systems analysis and digital transformation for global firms including Elf Aquitaine, Marks & Spencer, Ernst & Young, and Sapient.

Around the turn of the millennium, he shifted his focus to Africa, helping launch technology-led innovation initiatives in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya.

Over the years, TD has helped build some of Africa’s most important startup infrastructure. He co-founded the Lagos Angel Network (LAN) and was founding president of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), where he championed mentor‑driven investing and angel syndication.

He’s also a board member of the Global Business Angel Network (GBAN). As Collaborator‑in‑Chief at TVC Labs, a Lagos-based innovation hub he founded, Davies leads programs that help early-stage founders achieve product-market fit and raise capital.

He is also chairman or non‑executive director of several companies, including Powerstove (clean energy), MBO Capital (private equity), Big Cabal Media (media), Omnibiz (e-commerce), and Laptops4Learning Nigeria (edtech NGO).

Tomi Davies is the author of several books: The African Project Manager, Corporate Bold, Cracking the Success Code, and his most recent, Investment Worthy Startup, which introduces his POEM Framework® (Proposition, Organization, Economics, Milestones), a model for evaluating and scaling startups.

His philosophy — “Find, Fund & Follow2Exit” shows his belief that successful investing goes beyond providing capital to offering mentorship, market insight, and long‑term commitment.

Recognized globally, Davies was named one of the 100 Most Influential Africans of 2021 by New African magazine.

As a thought leader, he regularly speaks at major innovation and investment forums, contributing insight on technology, early‑stage capital, and the role of diaspora-linked ecosystems.
