Oladotun Ajayi – Nominated for Business and Impact of the Year at the MOI Awards

At just 21, Oladotun Ajayi has achieved what many only dream of using the power of social media to drive real impact among young people. 

The Oyo State–born changemaker is a fourth-year Nursing student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) and the co-founder of Students on LinkedIn, a growing community helping university students connect with life-changing opportunities.

In 2023, his commitment to empowering young minds earned him the prestigious Diana Award, one of the highest accolades a young person can receive for social action or humanitarian work. 

The award, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, celebrates exceptional young people who are driving positive change in their communities and beyond.

Through Students on LinkedIn, Ajayi has helped increase the number of students leveraging the platform for professional growth by an impressive 65 percent. 

His initiative has transformed the way Nigerian students see LinkedIn, not just as a networking site, but as a gateway to mentorship, internships, and career opportunities.

Speaking about his recognition, Ajayi described the award as a powerful reminder that, “it is possible to do great things from a small place.” For him, the honour marks a milestone in his mission to bridge the gap between students and opportunities, a vision tied closely to economic growth and decent work for all, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Beyond the numbers, Oladotun’s story is one of purpose, innovation, and quiet leadership. His journey continues to inspire many young Nigerians to take advantage of digital platforms not just for social connection, but for self-development and career advancement.
