Tech4Dev (Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative) is a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping Africans with digital skills that prepare them for the future of work.
Founded in 2016, the enterprise has grown into a continental force, creating opportunities for youth, women, and underserved communities through technology-driven empowerment programs.
Through initiatives like the Women Techsters Fellowship, Tech4Dev has trained thousands of women across Africa in coding, product design, data science, and cybersecurity, addressing both the gender gap in tech and unemployment challenges.
In 2024, the organization expanded this program to reach participants in over 15 African countries, furthering its mission of inclusion and diversity in technology.
The enterprise also partners with global giants such as Microsoft, Google, and international development agencies to scale its impact.
Its Digital for Development (D4D) programs provide digital literacy training for rural and low-income communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital revolution.
As a nominee for Social Enterprise of the Year, Tech4Dev embodies the promise of technology as a tool for empowerment, bridging inequalities, and preparing Africa’s workforce for a rapidly evolving global economy.
