Sim Shagaya- Nominated for Media Visionary of the Year Award at the MOI Awards

Sim Shagaya is a serial entrepreneur and media visionary who laid the groundwork for Nigeria’s
digital future across multiple industries.

He is the founder of E-Motion Advertising, a leading out-of-home media company that was acquired in 2019. His pioneering work in this sector demonstrated a bold vision for advertising in a rapidly growing urban environment.

He then went on to found Konga, one of West Africa’s largest e-commerce websites, and later pivoted to
education, founding uLesson, an edtech platform.

Shagaya’s influence is immense. He was named in Forbes’ list of “10 Most Powerful Men in
Africa” in 2014 and is widely regarded as a “father figure” to many Nigerian tech entrepreneurs.

His career is a testament to a results-driven mindset and the strategic use of media to build and
scale businesses. His role on the Economic Advisory Council of Plateau State further
demonstrates his commitment to applying his business acumen for public good.
