Oba Otudeko is a veteran entrepreneur and visionary whose leadership has shaped Nigeria’s corporate landscape for decades. He founded Honeywell Enterprises in the 1970s as a trading company, and it has since grown into the Honeywell Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests in food manufacturing, oil, gas, and telecommunications.
Otudeko’s significant industry influence is underscored by his pioneering role in telecommunications. In 2001, he led a consortium that secured one of the first GSM licenses in Nigeria and made the historic first mobile phone call in the country, a moment that symbolized the dawn of a new era in communication.
His leadership has also extended to key positions in national institutions, including serving as the 16th President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and on the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
