Kemi Adetiba is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, and producer who has made an indelible mark in the creative and entertainment industry across Africa. She began her professional journey in broadcasting as a radio presenter before moving into television, where she became known for hosting programs on MNet and other platforms.

Her early years in media established her as a dynamic on-air personality, but her passion for visual storytelling led her to transition into film and music video production. Kemi studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, a move that refined her craft and positioned her as a global-standard director.

She quickly gained recognition as one of Nigeria’s foremost music video directors, working with leading artists such as Banky W, Tiwa Savage, and Olamide. Her signature directing style, blending powerful imagery with narrative depth, made her one of the most sought-after creative directors in the Nigerian music industry.

Kemi Adetiba later transitioned into feature filmmaking, where she achieved global acclaim. Her debut film, The Wedding Party (2016), became Nigeria’s highest-grossing film at the time, cementing her reputation as a director with commercial appeal. She followed this success with King of Boys (2018), a political crime thriller that became a cultural phenomenon, celebrated for its storytelling, strong character arcs, and social commentary.

The success of King of Boys led to King of Boys: The Return of the King (2021), a Netflix original series that further elevated her as one of the leading voices in African cinema. This milestone also positioned her as a pioneer in bridging Nollywood with global streaming platforms.
