John Momoh- Nominated for Media Visionary of the Year Award at the MOI Awards

John Momoh is a preeminent figure in Nigerian media, a visionary who transformed the
broadcast landscape by establishing Channels Television in 1995.

After a distinguished career as a broadcast journalist, he had a bold vision to create a multi-million-dollar media enterprise at a time when analysts predicted his business model would fail.

His resilience and tenacious pursuit of excellence have been validated by the fact that Channels Television has won the “Television Station of the Year” award a record 16 times.

Momoh’s influence is profound and long-lasting. He has been conferred with the Nigerian
Government’s National Honour of “Officer of the Order of the Niger” (OON), an honor he shares
with other prominent Nigerians like Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu, for his contributions to
technology and economic development.

He is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and serves as a juror for the annual International Emmy Awards, positioning him as a respected figure on the global media stage.

As a true architect of impact, Momoh’s commitment to journalism and mentorship is a model for media professionals across the continent.
