At just 25, Florentina Agu has emerged as one of Africa’s most exciting creative forces in fashion. Through her brand Hertunba, she is redefining what it means to merge heritage, sustainability, and femininity in design.
Founded in Lagos, Hertunba champions African craftsmanship with a modern narrative, celebrating the spirit and resilience of women through fashion that is both ethical and expressive.
In 2025, Agu captivated audiences with the launch of “The Joy Collection,” a vibrant, sustainability-driven line crafted from recycled fabrics and traditional Akwete and Aso-Oke textiles.
The collection went viral for its stunning visuals and storytelling, described by fashion critics as a “cultural bridge between art, identity, and empowerment.”
Florentina’s commitment to women’s empowerment extends beyond design; Hertunba employs local female artisans, preserving indigenous weaving traditions while creating economic opportunities.
Her recognition by Essence and Bold Future Africa this year solidified her status as a visionary shaping global perceptions of African luxury.
