Dimeji Ilori is a Lagos-based fashion designer redefining sustainability through his eponymous label, DIMEJIILORI.
His signature approach, often described as “Afrowaste”transforms discarded garments and dead-stock textiles into limited, handcrafted pieces that marry African heritage with contemporary street sensibilities.
Inspired by the overflowing bales of second-hand clothing in local markets, Ilori builds collections from thrifted and landfill-bound fabrics, prioritising quality over mass production and proving that circular design can be luxurious, culturally rooted, and commercially viable.
His work has been spotlighted by leading creative platforms and on the Lagos Fashion Week stage, where he has engaged sustainability programmes and showcased collections that foreground craftsmanship, storytelling, and responsible sourcing.
Recent showcases and community features highlight his use of hand-woven techniques and heritage textiles, positioning the brand within Nigeria’s rising eco-fashion movement.
