Ben Murray-Bruce is a media visionary who is a true pioneer of independent broadcasting and
entertainment in Nigeria.
He is the founder of Silverbird Group, a media and entertainment conglomerate that started with a magazine in 1980 and has grown to include cinemas, television, and radio.
His bold vision led him to build the first ever five-screen Cineplex in Lagos and establish the country’s first family entertainment television channel, Silverbird Television, in 2004.
Murray-Bruce’s enduring influence is a result of his relentless expansion and innovation. He
revolutionized radio broadcasting with Rhythm FM in 1997 and, in a testament to his resilience,
built Silverbird Cinemas into one of the top five cinema chains in Africa, with a presence in
Ghana and Liberia.
As a true architect of impact, he is also known for his “Common Sense” series, an educational program that offers solutions to Nigeria’s social, economic, and political problems, positioning him as a thought leader in national development.
