Dammy Twitch (born Apampa Oluwadamilola Owolabi, 27 October 1995) has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic visual storytellers, seamlessly blending music, film, and culture.
Beginning his career as a photographer and editor, he transitioned into video direction, founding his production houses, Polar Films and Kadiri Studios. His work spans Nigeria’s music heavyweights and international brands alike.
This year, his profile soared beyond the music video world: he directed his first feature film, I Hate It Here, a haunting exploration of domestic violence, earning attention for its emotional depth and craft. He’s also been recognised among the continent’s best in Forbes’ “30 Under 30”, underscoring his rising influence.
What sets Dammy apart is his audacious fusion of raw Nigerian aesthetic with global production quality: shots of Lagos street culture, motorbike chaos, and emotive close-ups show he isn’t just capturing music—he’s capturing identity.
The result: a trailblazer shaping the visual language of Afrobeats, and a worthy contender for the Music Trailblazer award.
