Blessing Omakwu is a dynamic Nigerian-American advocate for women’s equality, a strategist, writer, and lawyer whose work spans global development, philanthropy, and creative media.
She holds a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University Law School and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A in Government and International Relations from Oral Roberts University.
Her professional journey includes senior roles with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as Head of the “Goalkeepers” programme—a global initiative to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality).
She is also the founder of The She Tank, a modern think-tank supporting the realisation of equality for women of African descent.
Her thought-leadership explores the critical intersection of faith and feminism, including the podcast “Our Bibles, Ourselves”, in which she deconstructs Christian texts from a feminist perspective
